I had pages uploaded to my server and I could view them properly with http:// but would get an error

"The page cannot be displayed".

for example:

http://mywebsite.com/hello.php

would display properly, but the same page on https:// would not display at all, even though I was using the correct path to the secure server and my file (I wont include the path here for security safety.)

Anne was great and solved the problem. Anne says that the problem is with the Cpanel and I had mistakenly clicked on the "SSL Manager". The Cpanel expected a unique ssl certificate, which I don't have and the reason I am using 12wonder's secure server and their ssl certificate.

Anne could tell this had happened because a folder called "SSL" was present under my root folder, created automatically when I clicked "SSL Manager" in Cpanel.

Moral of the story:

If you click on "SSL Manager" and do not have a unique ssl certificate, you will have a ssl folder under your root folder and you may not be able to use 12wonder's secure server.

Anne fixed it by resetting my account, after I backed-up all my data.

Thanks.

Hi Sean,

In this case it was a two-fold problem. Monte is working on mirroring everything on magic to move it to the new DV2 dc - web sites, mail accounts, ssl certs, etc. He is in the process of installing the ssl certs on the mirror server, while you were trying to use it.

About the SSL Manager icon in cPanel, here's Monte's take on it:

It should not be there and soon will be gone so try to ignore it for now.

Personally I think CPanel has lost there every loving mind, that is supposed to allow customers to install their own ssl certs. But I can think of no better way to crash apache and bring our servers down all the time than allowing newbies to try and install ssl certs.

Meanwhile during the mirroring since you need an SSL cert immediately, I have copied your SSL files to darrion and set you up with access to the shared SSL on darrion which you can use temporarily while magic's being worked on.

Anyone else on magic encountering problems with their shared SSL during the transfer, email me & I'll set you up the same way.

Anne
