We have just been notified that the move is on again...

This affects ALL servers in the NAC data center - in our case, darrion and magic are the ones we have at NAC. Our own web site and these forums are on a different server/data center so they will not be affected and we will still be able to provide support, answer questions etc.

Pegasus Web Technologies is proud to finally announce its much anticipated launch of our new fully owned datacenter in Clifton, NJ. In the works for more than a year of planning, coordinating, building and testing, the facility is now live and operational. The new datacenter will incorporate all existing servers to be moved from our current datacenter, to this new facility. Due to our past capacity issues, our new facility boasts enormous growth potential allowing us capabilities of up to 55,000 sq ft of pure datacenter floor space, and ease of access to backbone providers. Currently, the facility incorporates over 7,500 sq ft of completed raised floor data center space, along with 4,500 sq ft of corporate office space which includes a front reception area, conference rooms, and ample space for our employees. The new datacenter has been carefully planned from inception to overcompensate for such factors as cooling, generators, UPS’s, backup generators, fire suppression, and much, much more. Our new facility has been set in place with 7,500 sq ft of raised flooring, 10 (ten) 20 ton AC units, CCTV system, Biometric Security system, double pre-action fire suppression system, MCI OC48 Full Sonnet Ring, with Dual OC192’s being installed now. We have chosen MCI and Above.net for our backbone providers, and are adding Level3 and Global Crossing in the near future.

The specific date of the scheduled move is Sunday, July 11th at 12:00am (midnight) Eastern Standard time. The move will be done as late as possible, during which time the network will be rerouted to the Clifton facility, and 30-40 movers will assist with the transition of the servers from our NAC facility to the new Clifton facility along with the in-house administrative team. Teams will be assisting with removal of the servers, packing, transporting, unpacking and reconnecting service. The estimated downtime will approximately be four to six hours.

While the facility has undergone strenuous testing, there is always the chance of small hurdles along the way. This move we feel is in the best interest of our organization and customers, to provide overall better, faster, and more stable control over our facilities and continue the growth and dedication that you have come to expect.

Any idea when the servers will be back up? It's now been over 8 hours. Thanks

I do not have any idea at this point how long it will be. Monte has to wait for updates from them but since they are moving 3000 servers I have no idea if ours got moved as a single unit ( I highly doubt it) or if they are spread out all over the place, and I doubt they know themselves. I am sure they just grab servers and load them as they come to them.

But we are seeing signs of life so that is progress. Darrion is back up now.

No word as of yet on how much longer this is going to go on and we are still waiting on magic. It is over time now so we are pressing but I am sure they are working as fast as they can.

OK latest update:

Unfortunately the move is going a bit slower than originally planned. We have approx. 30+ movers to assist, but due to some restrictions placed upon us, only 8 of our employees, (No Hired Movers) were allowed in the colo to remove servers at any given time. This severely slowed down our moving abilities, but we're coming along.

We appreciate the patience and understanding, we'll have all of you guys back up and running as soon as we can!

Another Update...

ETA

An honest ETA would be a few more hours for proper setup and testing.

I really can't give a range, because we have more help arriving every minute, so we are looking to speed things up.

This will be my last post for a while as I'm heading back to assist.

Thanks,

Yes we still have one server (magic) down. Although they did start at midnight EST the expected time frame has been far extended beyond what anyone expected. Darrion however is back up.

No we do not yet have an ETA for when magic will be back up. I am doing as many verbal war-dances as I can but that will undoubtedly not be real effective to spur on an exhausted team of techs who have had no sleep but do have sore feet, bloodied hands & other ailments.

I also know there are still at least a hundred other hosting companies with affected servers still down and the techs are working as fast as they can.

I am as frustrated as any of you with this and will stay with this to keep you all updated until this whole mess is resolved.

A few words from Monte, my chief super-geek techadmin:

I wish I could get a straight answer, I am not a happy camper right now.

I had talks with the CEO with the VP with the tech manager I was assured this would all happen without a hitch.

I put faith in these guys not to BS us, to shoot straight and keep us informed.

Right now I feel very let down and very disappointed. I know you guys are suffering and I am sorry I wish I could do something myself but all I can do is keep the pressure on and keep you updated with any tidbts I can get.

Well we "lucked out" (??!!). Magic is finally now back online and appears to be functioning normally in the new building, as is darrion server. There are still a lot more servers at the data center that are still offline which is why I say we lucked out -- compared to them that is.

Fingers crossed. If any of you continue to experience any problems let me know asap so we can address it.

Thanks to all of you for your patience!
