As some of you already know, Gnax, where our servers are collocated, has built a new data center facility in order to further expand their business. They have outgrown the current facility to the point it was overcrowded and bursting at the seams with no room left for expansion.
It has been online for about 6 months now and they have migrated about 50% of their servers to the new data center already, and have plans to have the full data center migrated by mid-summer.
We have waited until the new data center was fully functional and well-tested before making the jump to migrate our own servers.
However, the time has come to make the move, and on Feb 24th at 11:30PM EST US time we will start moving our servers from the current data center to the new one.
Expected downtime will be from 2 to 6 hours for all servers and web sites in the Gnax data center.
Monte will personally be on site for the move and making sure that everything is moved in a timely and proper manner.
As always, we will do our best to protect every server and data during the move.
As with any kind of move of this sort, there may be one or two servers that experience some kind of issue during the reboot process. You can be assured that we will have personnel on hand to deal with any unexpected problems that may arise.
Please notify your site users and/or customers of this expected outage and the time frame as soon as possible so that there is as little confusion as possible.
During the move, the 12wonderwebservices.com web site, help desk and these forums will be down also.
Please do not submit emails or attempt to sumbit support tickets during the indicated downtime asking for updates. We will not be able to answer those questions for you nor do anything to help during that time. Instead please visit the forums after the expected downtime, where I will try to update as soon as possible after the move. Please understand our focus will be on moving and getting all servers back online as fast as possible. Taking time to answer questions will only slow the process for everyone.
As always, thanks for hosting with 1-2-Wonder and putting your trust in us.
