currently when going to ftp.hyratech.com

it points to the hosting ftp.

is there a way to create a second ftp that points to my own server?
I have static IPs

if possible i want this to happen:

ftp.hyratech.com will go to the hosting account
ftp2.hyratech.com will go to "my ip"

I tried to use this solution.. (Dont' know if it's the right way)

a. Created a subdomain called "ftp2.hyratech.com"
b. Created a redirect "ftp2.hyratech.com" ---> ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

when i type this in the address : "ftp2.hyratech.com"
i get this ftp://ftp2.hyratech.com

and it's going to the hosting account..

How do i get around in accomplishing what i want.
Any help will be appreciated

It's not something you can do on your end. Email me the ip you want to point ftp2 to.

Can Hyratech make his web server an ftp server?

Instead of typing ftp2.hyratech.com, instead type the static ip address in the client. Do whatever file transfer this way?

Click the "12Wonder" username link at the top of my post above, and a little dropdown will appear. Choose "Send email to 12Wonder".

Sure if he's got the right software installed on his computer he can.

Instead of typing ftp2.hyratech.com, instead type the static ip address in the client. Do whatever file transfer this way?
I think he wants to hide the actual ip.

it's not much as hidding the Ip because everyone knows it anyways..
it's just that it looks better with a name rather than just an ip..
Anne, I sent you the info..

Thanx

Thought it would ;)

By the way,
it's just that it looks better with a name rather than just an ip..

That's what I meant. Not hiding the IP specifically, because anyone could still figure it out. Just meant to make it not show up in the url.

Enjoy :D
